How to get there
American Patchwork Quartet vocalist Falu Shah; guitarist and vocalist Clay Ross; drummer Clarence Penn; and bassist Moto Fukushima reimagine traditional American folk songs through the lens of four U.S. citizens with different cultural backgrounds. APQ weaves dynamic guitar work, Indian classical vocals, and a jazz-driven rhythm section into a richly textured sound. Musical storytelling at its finest, APQ is a deliberately designed homage to America’s past and a showcase of its dynamic present, celebrating our shared identity and the musical threads that bind us. Tickets are $36 in advance, $40 day-of-show. Doors open 7 p.m. Sponsored by Camden Maine Stay Inn and 40 Paper. FMI about our wheelchair seating or other accessibility questions, please email dernest@camdenmaine.gov or call (207) 236-3154. Tickets, attached to emailed confirmation, are nonrefundable.Â
APQ was founded by Ross, a multi-GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist and vocalist, and shaped in collaboration with an ensemble of internationally celebrated musicians. A southern-born roots music aficionado, Ross also is the founder of the world-renowned Gullah group Ranky Tanky. In APQ, world-class musicians form a living patchwork of traditions and perspectives—united not by similarity, but by a shared commitment to collaboration, representation, and artistic integrity.Â
